![]() ![]() ![]() Each brush engine has its own logic and behavior. Multiple Brush Engines and Blending ModesĪ brush engine is more than just a typical brush pattern with settings changed. It is one of those features you have to see for yourself. You can even paint off the edge and it will automatically start painting on the top. No more clunky offsetting to see how your image repeats itself. Continue painting and watch all of the references update instantly. The image will make references for itself along the x and y-axis. Press the ‘W’ key while painting to toggle wrap-around mode. It is easy to create seamless textures and patterns now. There is a large set of options available to create a no-distractions canvas-only painting mode. The OpenGL canvas supports high-bit depth monitors. The canvas can be easily rotated and mirrored. Save a given set of dockers as a workspace and switch between them. In the settings menu, you can choose the color theme, which toolbars and dockers you want to use, and edit keyboard shortcuts. It was created with the following types of art in mind: concept art, texture or matte painting, illustrations, and comics. Krita is a FREE sketching and painting program. Krita offers CMYK support, HDR painting, perspective grids, dockers, filters, painting assistants, and many other features you would expect. Thanks again, I'm also glad everything works better, now the only thing that needs to improve is my drawing/painting skill but it doesn't seem to go that smoothly xD.Krita 64-bit is a FREE digital painting and illustration application. ![]() When it comes to update of Krita, nothing changed as far as I can tell, I was drawing, noticed e-mail about the release, closed Krita, updated and the rest is above. I'm just reverting drivers to previous version at this very moment (downloading), because the new nvidia ones made a mess elsewhere. Right now I can't reproduce it again, before the krita was low performing but right now it works just fine so that might have been part of the problem.ĭrivers are an all annoying problem. I can't say for certain, it was completely random but then the empty option got stuck at that rewritten state. Before it happened several times but it was really random - or more precisely I think it happened when I tried undo while the brush was stuck for a sec or if I tried undo right after/during deleting (hitting del to clear the layer). That's the problem, I can't figure out how to reproduce it. I don't know why, but updating from 4.1.7 to 4.2.0 must have messed something up in the files because now Krita loads fast, works fast, I just can't use opengl. I tried switching from OpenGL to Angle and voila it works just fine. Installed again, krita performance is butter smooth, the problem with first lag stroke persists though. I unistalled it, ran a wildcard search for anything related to krita name, deleted all leftover files after uninstall. I went back to 4.1.7 and noticed the same problem. I'm certain I never noticed anything similar to this with the previous version used on daily basis. There also appears to be some low brush performance overall, at least compared to the previous version.Īs a side note, history bugged on me too, ine one file when I tried to return to empty it did not clear the canvas but returned to a state which was not even in history anymore (I Undo a few strokes and made new ones thus the history of the previous strokes should get rewritten which it did for ctrl + Z - undo - but when using empty in Undo history it removed everything but - for some reason - it brought back the rewritten strokes. I tried both renderers OpenGL and Angle (significantly less obvious but still happenes), as far as I can tell it happenes with both but openGL is more "laggy" and it's way more apparent in this manner.Īll this happenes with and without brush preview.įirst brush stroke lags, it doesn't show immediately and takes a while to render and is choppy, if it's a prolonged period without lifting the pen off the screen it catches up and works just fine until I lift the pen again wait a bit (sometiems no need to wait) and again first second or so takes time to render and doesn't render properly smooth line There are some weird lags with brushes, some which I can feel but don't know how to repeat (it's kind of random so far) and some very obvious straight forward. ![]()
